Sea Journal

Image
Hello Crafty Peeps, yes I know it's been a long time since I blogged! time just gets away with me and I really need to manage it better when it comes to my blog and my craft creations, and I know I have said it before that I need to be better at this :-( I have made this beautiful journal that I have called "Sea Journal" using the stunning Ciao Bella Under the Ocean papers, with a combination of Kaisercraft Unchartered Waters stickers and diecut collection. (Photos courtesy of google) The journal was made for a friend who has been down, and loves the ocean so I thought what better way to combine her love for the ocean with some inspirational quotes to help her along the way. The journal has pockets and spaces for adding photos or journaling, or anything my friend desires to add within it. I also made a card to go with it, with a picture of a girl and a dog by the sea having a coffee! what a perfect way to represent her as well to show her its ok to take time out for yours

Cleaning Ink Spray Bottle lids, Dauber Paint Lids & Reviving Nuvo Mousse

Image
This was a long time coming...... as was my blog post. The dreaded cleaning of ink spray bottle lids, dauber paint lids and the reviving of Nuvo mousse was a long time coming, because if you are like me, I don't always clean as I go :-( and it was a big job that I am really happy with having the time spent to actually get them cleaned and ready to use again without the hassle of sprays not spraying, paint not coming out or the Nuvo dried up. Ink Spray Bottle Lids It absolutely frustrates me, when buying ink sprays and the spray works once, or just won't work the first time you use it! I find the Nuvo ones are the worst spritz bottles and out of the 6 I have, only two work, and still work after spending ages cleaning them out.  I started by taking all the lids off the spray bottles and placing my bottles carefully in a tray carrier and replacing the lid back on as to avoid spillage or dry out. (except I did have a spillage :-( when I was putting the lids back on, I accidentally

Travel Case using Lemoncraft Silence Papers

Image
WOW..... I have been very slack in blogging! I need to remind myself to also blog when I post to my FB page :-)  Train Case - My Version :-)  I have been playing with Nuvo mousse, glitter, crackle paste and liquid drops with this Train Case project. I also managed to use up all my Lemoncraft Silence papers that I had also used for a  project I created previously. This project was fun! I used the Eileen Hull Scoreboard XL - Train case, which was ideal for my file folders I created for the inside using the Uniquely Creative File Folder Die. I had started my file folders first and then remembered I had this train case in my collection and it was a perfect fit for storing my inspirational cards. Above photos taken from google images This is the Train Case I created and inside are the folder files, filled with inspirational quotes. Firstly, I made the train case, and admittedly I did struggle a little with it, so I went to the faithful Youtube for help and found a really good tutorial. One

Polystyrene circle base and Lemon Craft Silence Papers

Image
When I was sent this polystyrene circle base, at first I thought, "what does Julie expect me to do with this", so a little treat of white chocolate put me in a head space to create a picture perfect scenery using the Lemon Craft Silence paper collection, which is just so pretty. This project required some fussy cutting, and you know I am not a huge fan of fussy cutting, although my patience with this didn't wear thin, and I actually enjoyed it, maybe it was the combination of pretty papers, coffee and yes, as mentioned the white chocolate :-)  Firstly I started by tracing the circle base on one of the papers that already had a slight pink tinge through it, and then added more pink using the Tim Holtz spun sugar distress ink, this really made the paper pop. Once that was done, I added a strip of paper on the bottom of the base to add some colour. I then added some Webster fabric ribbon found in my stash that was just perfect for this project. I added a strip at the top of

6"x8" Page and Pocket using Prima Desert Collection

Image
How beautiful is this Prima Golden Desert collection? ( or Dessert as I so called it not realizing my spelling, and thanks to my wonderful friend for picking that minor error up hehehe). You can find this stunning collection at  Scrap of Your Life. I was given the challenge to make a 12x12 scrap layout with a matching pocket page. As I love a challenge, and new to scrapbooking, I thought why not, then realized I didn't have the pocket page to match in my collection, so I improvised and came up with a smaller version, a 6"x8" page and matching pocket, of which I used the  Simple Stories SN@P - Pocket Pages for 6" x 8" Binders - Size 3" x 4" & 4" x 6", and I love it! I firstly created the the 6"x8" page using cardstock, and paper from the collection. I created a smaller page for the top of my front page and turned it into a flip page. I then decorated it by stamping skulls and star images using archival ink in orange blossom and b

Cards using Mystic Prophecy - 3 Quarter papers

Image
What is not to love about these gorgeous papers from 3 Quarter - Mystic Prophecy? I was sent this gorgeous card kit to create with and I loved creating these cards using different template designs and techniques. You can find this pack at Scrap of Your Life -  Mystic Prophecy Card Collection Pack I decided to make three cards using three different templates - cascade card, double pocket and step card. These were quite easy to make once I got the dimensions right!  I will say I actually had a Sizzix Thinlets step card which I forgot I had, so I gave it a go and put it through my bigshot, and once I got the dimensions from this, I decided to create a paper template to have whenever I don’t have my bigshot with me. I have a dedicated draw for paper templates of various cards I have made over time.  Template 1 - Step Card Template 2 - Double Pocket Card Template 2 - Cascade Card You can find a Video walk through of the cards on my FB page  Mishka's Crafty Creations You can find all the
